Solomon I of Imereti

King of Imereti from 1752 to 1784, he led a long resistance against the Ottoman Turks and tried to abolish the slave trade in his kingdom. His reign represented the high point of post-medieval Imeretian power and resistance to Ottoman vassalage. He died without a clear successor.
