David VIII of Georgia

King of Georgia from 1293 to 1311, eldest son of Demetrius II. He led an open rebellion against Mongol rule for several years, retreating to fortified mountain regions. The Mongols replaced him with his brothers but he eventually returned to nominal kingship before his death.
