Vakhtang VI of Kartli

King of Kartli from 1716 to 1724 and prominent legal reformer, scholar, and patron of the first Georgian printing press. After his deposition he led a Georgian colony in exile in Russia, where many Georgian nobles emigrated. His legal code and historiographic works are foundational to modern Georgian scholarship.
