Biography
King of Georgia from 1072 to 1089, his weak rule coincided with the catastrophic Seljuk invasions that devastated the Georgian kingdom in what is called the 'Great Turkish Troubles'. Faced with disaster he abdicated in favor of his son David IV. His decision allowed the Georgian Golden Age to begin.
