Gurgen of Iberia

Son of Bagrat II and father of Bagrat III, the first king of unified Georgia. He held the title 'King of Kings of the Kartvelians' from 994 to 1008 but real authority lay with his son who had inherited the kingdom of Abkhazia through his mother. He died in 1008 just as unification was completing.
